Detection of nociception and labetalol bolus shown in PTA

MDoloris Medical Systems designed the PTA technology to monitor animals’ comfort during surgery by measuring the parasympathetic tone of their autonomic nervous system, to control nociception and anticipate analgesia needs.

Here we see when an animal is under surgical stress during a procedure, the PTA value decreases. When the patient is given Labetalol bolus, that value increases, exhibiting the drug’s effect.

The PTA monitor is a unique monitoring technology that aims to help veterinarians titrate analgesics to improve the outcomes of the animals.
