About MDoloris

After 23 years of research, the CIC-IT of Lille University Hospital has developed a patented technology able to monitor the surgical stress experienced by a patient, conscious or unconscious. MDoloris Medical Systems is the first worldwide company to be able to provide clinicians continuous and non-invasive surgical stress monitoring medical devices of the patient’s parasympathetic tone. Managing analgesia with our devices avoids and prevents the side effects such as analgesia overdosing, post-op acute pain, and further health complications. With MDoloris monitor guidance, clinical investigations have shown that patients wake up faster with lower pain scores.

A history of success

Supported by the Bio-Incubator, Eurasanté, since late 2008, the company won the OSEO Emergence contest in June 2009. A few months later, in January 2010, the company was a prize-winner of the Springboard Companies contest and then of the Entreprendre Nord network in March 2010. The company officially launched with the name MDoloris Medical Systems on 1 June 2010 and was again the winner of the OSEO Creation Development national contest organized by the Education and Research Ministry.

In September 2010, our devices received the CE mark, which allows market distribution. By December 2010, our technology was awarded in the Victories de la Médecine. On March 2011, the ANI monitor V1 of MDoloris Medical Systems was awarded during the Innovation Week’s inauguration held in Lille. The ANI was elected in 2013 as one of the most innovative technologies within the last ten years in Russia. By 2014, Fabien Pagniez, the CEO, received the Entrepreneur Of The Year trophy.

The ISO 13485 standard sets out requirements regarding the organization of a quality management system. It recognizes the ability of MDoloris Medical Systems to provide products and processes in compliance with regulatory requirements. It also ensures that everything is implemented daily to optimize the safety of marketed devices, from conception to obsolescence of its products.

MDoloris Medical Systems is backed by 3 well established Venture Capital organizations. A regional VC, Finovam, which aims to help at a very early stage innovative start-ups located to get access to their markets with a first roundtable and two European, well recognized, VCs:

  • Xange For 15 years, Xange has been a key investor in Europe with 450 M€ under management and a portfolio of 65 start-ups. Xange is Siparex Group’s Venture Capital arm.
  • Seventure Partners: Established in 1997, Seventure Partners is one of the European leaders in venture capital, with €750 million under management as of December 31, 2018 (net commitments).   • Sacha Loiseau, founder, and chairman Mauna Kea Technologies: Listed at Euronext, MKEA. Since 2000, Mauna Kea Technologies has pioneered the medical advancement of digital in-vivo endomicroscopy. By bringing together world-leaders in astrophysics and medicine, we engineered the world’s smallest microscope that enables clinicians to view tissue within the human body at a cellular level in real-time.
  • Jerome Martinez, former CEO of Novagali Pharma SA. experienced Executive with a demonstrated history of working in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. Skilled in Business Development, Biotechnology, Management, Business Strategy, fundraising. Pharm.D. with a strong business professional background with an MBA from HEC Paris and an EMP focused in Management from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management.
